Bangkok Bike and Bites Food Tour
Tour Overview
The best way to discover Bangkok's historic heart is through its food, and this tour lets you do it at a relaxed pace, by bike, one delicious stop at a time.
This private, half-day Bangkok bike tour takes us through the old part of the city, along back lanes and quiet side streets where family-run vendors have been cooking the same recipes for generations. At each stop you'll taste authentic local Thai dishes and finish with traditional Thai desserts. Every meal is bought from small local vendors, so your tour directly supports the communities we visit.
Between tastings, we'll ride past historic temples, old shophouses and riverside neighbourhoods, while your guide shares the stories behind the food and the people who make it.
Come hungry and leave with a full belly and a new appreciation for Thai culture.
Detailed Itinerary
We meet at Just Nok New Office, where we'll do a quick bike fitting and safety briefing before setting off on our food-filled ride.
We start with a leisurely ride alongside the canal to Banglamphu, the vibrant old neighbourhood surrounding the famous Khao San Road. Here we make our first stop at a local Muslim restaurant, famous for its Khao Mok Nuea (beef biryani-style yellow rice). You're welcome to try any of their other dishes too.
Next, a short ride brings us to the pier, where we take the ferry across the river to Wang Lang Market, a true food haven. Here you can sample mouth-watering deep-fried pork strips and/or Miang Kham, a traditional one-bite leaf wrap bursting with flavour.
Our food treasure hunt continues as we ferry back across the river and ride past the majestic Grand Palace and Wat Pho to the iconic Pak Khlong Talat flower market. Here we mingle with the locals at an open-air eatery with a wide selection of dishes and fresh fruit, including classics such as Pad Kra Pao, mangosteen or rambutan.
On our homeward journey we'll pass the Giant Swing. Here there are a number of sweet shops which you can choose from to enjoy some classic Thai desserts. Choose from mango sticky rice, khanom krok, Thai roti pancakes and other sweet treats, the perfect way to end the tour.
